Karl Kustoms At The 2025 IMCA Super Nationals
If you follow dirt track racing, you know there is nothing quite like the atmosphere at Boone Speedway in the fall. The IMCA Super Nationals is the ultimate proving ground, and this year, two of our favorite drivers – with Karl Kustoms power plants under the hood – showed exactly why they are some of the best in the business.
We’re proud to partner with Drew Janssen and Tom Berry Jr. – and they both absolutely put on an amazing performance at their qualifiers as well as the ‘Big Dance’ finale. Here’s how they got it done:
Janssen Sets The Pace In Qualifier 5

Drew Janssen wasted no time making his presence felt in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified Qualifier 5. Piloting the Danny Meier-owned No. 127 machine, Janssen was the man to beat from the very first lap.
The 25-lap feature saw a few early cautions slow the pace on laps seven and nine, but Janssen kept his cool. Once the green flag stayed out, he found another gear. With 11 laps to go, Janssen effectively checked out, leaving the rest of the field to battle for second place in his rearview mirror.
Even when he hit lapped traffic on lap 21, Janssen managed the gap perfectly. While the competition tried to close in during the final circuits, Janssen didn’t give an inch, cruising to a decisive victory and securing his spot in the outside row of Saturday’s main event.
Berry Jr. Goes Wire-to-Wire In Qualifier 6

Immediately following Janssen’s masterclass, Tom Berry Jr. took to the track for Qualifier 6 and decided to put on a clinic of his own.
Berry, a 2022 Super Nationals champion and 2020 National champ, looked every bit the part of a title contender. From the drop of the green flag, Berry took charge and never looked back, leading every single lap of the contest.
He built a massive lead early on, slicing through heavy traffic by lap nine. Even when late cautions on laps 12 and 13 wiped out his advantage, Berry’s restarts were flawless. He powered away from the pack every time, proving that his machine had the torque and the setup to handle the tacky Boone clay. Despite hitting traffic again with three laps to go, he never faltered, taking the checkered flag and joining Janssen in the outside row for the Big Dance.
