Lowered Silverado: Truck Month Stories

Owning a lowered Silverado can be just as useful. Just imagine how much easier it is getting those heavy tools out of the bed.

In a recent Truck Month Stories spotlight, we covered this beautiful lowered Silverado (here). Taylor Musselman is the proud owner of this standout. It catches all the eyes and Musselman couldn’t be more pleased with that.

We love highlighting our customer’s trucks. Every buyer is different and every build is different. Let’s dive into this 2019 Chevy Silverado.

For The Love Of The Low

Slammed GMC

Musselman’s love for lowered trucks began quite some time ago. Before he had his lowered Silverado, he was the proud owner of a slammed 1991 GMC Sierra.

“First truck I owned, my dad got on a trade from my uncle down in Alabama,” starts Musselman “It was a 1991 GMC. We ended up lowering it 5″ in the front, 7″ in the rear.”

“It stood out in a crowd, I had a bunch of people asking me why in the hell I would ever do that. But, dare to be different. Stand out. Why drive A to B if you’re not smiling the whole way.”

“For some reason, the West Coast South always has influenced me to go low with nice big wheels.”

Mussleman’s love affair with riding low didn’t stop with the Sierra. The truck may have changed, but the game remains the same. Nowadays, Musselman commandeers a sleek and clean 2019 Chevy Silverado 4×4.

“Christmas present to myself,” shares Musselman “Got out of racing dirt tracks, so I decided to get a 1/2 ton.”

Similarly to the Sierra, Musselman went for a big drop on his Silverado not long after taking ownership. You might think you’d lose all the utility of owning a truck, but Musselman would disagree.

Lowered Silverado Rear

“I did a 3″ drop in the front, 5″ drop in the rear. Still 4WD, live in Iowa. Does everything you could ever want with 4WD,” declares Musselman “You can go to the hardware store and it’s easier to get stuff in and out of the bed!”

“We can’t leave anything alone, so we de-badge everything, clean ’em up, put as clean looking wheels and tires as we can. Bring ’em down to earth, just make ’em look clean and smooth.”

Better With A Bed

Chevy & GMC

“The best part about being a truck owner… you can put whatever you want in the bed of it,” remarks Musselman “You can have a tonneau cover so you can cover it, take your luggage, throw a muddy dog back there… Your wife, girlfriend, significant other, they always have a project for you. And with a truck, it’s feasible.”

“I can’t imagine myself without one… everyone needs a truck in their life.”
